About this Speaker

Natalie Foster joined MENTOR Virginia’s leadership team as the Director of Programs and Partnerships in December 2017. Natalie has experience training both youth and adults on how to build a mentoring relationship (in-person and virtually) and how to lay the foundation for effective communication. She has trained many people throughout Virginia and continues to build regional support throughout the state collaborating with city governments, public school systems, businesses, and higher education institutes to collectively make an impact on closing the mentoring gap. Her background in education and human resources allow her to connect with program partners and corporate partners to deliver training based on best practices for becoming a new mentor, Connect|Focus|Grow (a workforce readiness mentoring model targeted at youth ages 14–young adult), and STEM based mentoring. She has provided training and consulting services to many partners in the STEM field such as Capital One, Genentech, Dominion Energy, Code RVA, FIRST Chesapeake, Computers4Kids, and Capital Youth Empowerment STEM Program. Natalie holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Richmond and a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. As a former teacher, Natalie is delighted to come full circle and support strong youth mentoring programs throughout the Commonwealth. For the past three years she has mentored two young girls from St. Andrew’s School and served in a community advisory role with The Next Move Program, an organization that creates guided internship experiences for young adults with disabilities.
